SWCS- National Capital Chapter (NCC)
June 14, 2006

The Awards nomination webpage is up and running. Nominations are submitted directly to the chapter secretary. Gayle Norman will lead an awards committee to review nominations and prepare recommendation to the officers. Norm Berg nominated Neil Sampson. There are no activities on the National Mall to coordinate timing or award presentation with. We will consider coordination with the fall tour.

Treasurer Larry Holmes joined via teleconference. As of May 30 NCC has $10,663.73 in checking and savings. Dues arrive twice a year, which totaled $415 in 2005. The fall tour in 2005 was a net cost of $380.

Fall Tour planning is being led by Ross Braun. The date selected is Thursday, September 21, 2006. Mike Hubbs and Sheryl Kunickis will identify a luncheon speaker from ARS to discuss cutting-edge conservation-related technology. It may be possible to use the ARS Soy Bus for our tour. Several ARS research sites and NRCS National Plant Materials Center are being considered for the tour with lunch, probably catered, at the "Log Cabin."

The National SWCS International meeting will be held in Keystone Colorado, July 22-26. Ross Braun will attend as NCC Delegate. Bill Boyer is also attending and presenting CPPE Integration at a Sunday workshop titled Filed Office Business and Technology Tools.

Next Meeting, July 6, 11:45-12:45, room 6151-S. We will use the same teleconference information.

Recorded by:
Secretary, Bill Boyer
