SWCS-NCC Meeting Notes
June 7, 2007Participants: Chip Ramsey, Allison Wiedeman, Larry Holmes, Beth Sauerhaft, Melvin Womack, and Bill Boyer.
Minutes of the May Meeting were approved and will be posted on the website.
Spring Tour: Almost all 22 seats are filled. Several members of NCSAF are attending.
Annual Meeting-Silent Auction: NCC has 5 items to donate to the Florida chapter. All items should be ready in the next week or so. Chip plans to drive to the meeting and can take our donations for the Florida Chapter. Chip will follow up with Tom Hebert to see if he is still planning on buying the American flag flown over the capital and donating it to SWCS headquarters.
Joint Activities with Society of American Forester-National Capital Chapter: A joint meeting of representative officers will be held July 19, 11:30-1:00.
Treasurers Report: Checking $2,715.82 and Savings $11,405.02, total $14,120.84
Scholarship: No report.
Speaker Series: Tabled
Fall Tour: Melvin and Bill were asked to begin planning for a tour in September or October and present ideas at the July meeting. Melvin plans on attending the Virginia Chapter tour of Low Impact Community Development in Loudon County to glean ideas for our tour. Beth suggested we look into a green buildings idea for a tour.
New Leadership Hosting by NCC: Chip distributed an agenda from the Sixth Annual Berg Fellowship Forum held in Washington, DC, February 8-10, 1998. This will serve as a template for our proposal. Chip asked Tom, Ross, and Bill to develop a proposal for the next chapter meeting. If approved, we may want to introduce it to the SWCS Board of Directors at the annual meeting in July.
Awards: Chip presented a letter received from Jill Weaver. The Leadership Development Committee decided not to recommend the NCC for outstanding chapter award, because we did not have an annual or strategic plan. We will try again next year. Chip asked Bill to keep the letter and make sure we develop an annual or strategic plan next year

The SWCS-NCC Board meets the first Thursday of each month from 11:45-12:45.
The location will cycle among the organizations represented by Board members and be announced prior to each meeting.
