SWCS-NCC Meeting Notes
July 12, 2007Participants: Chip Ramsey, George Utting, Ross Braun, Beth Sauerhaft, Tom Herbert, Melvin Womack, and Bill Boyer.
Minutes of the June Meeting were approved and will be posted on the website.
Spring Tour: All 22 seats were filled; the Chapter realized about $30 net profit. Several members of NCSAF also attended.
Annual Meeting-Silent Auction: NCC has 4 items to donate to the Florida chapter. Chip is driving to the meeting and will take our donations for the Florida Chapter. Tom Hebert has framed the American flag flown over the capital and will mail it to Chip at the meeting site. Chip will present it to Craig Cox for SWCS headquarters during one of the Preliminary sessions. Bill Boyer will prepare thank you cards to Chip Heaps at Ducks Unlimited and Betty Ramsey. Officers agreed to reimburse any mailing expenses for the flag.
Northeast Leadership Workshop owes us $200 dollars from start up funds and a split of any profit. Chip will ask Larry Holmes to follow-up.
Joint Activities with Society of American Forester-National Capital Chapter: A joint meeting of representative officers will be held July 19, 11:30-1:00. We need to determine our mission and objectives-is it education, networking, membership motivation. We need to determine several timely themes, such as regulation issues, Chesapeake Bay, growth hormones, energy production, etc.
Treasurers Report: No report.
Scholarship: No report.
Speaker Series: Tabled
Fall Tour: Melvin is researching "Green Certification" for restaurants, businesses, homes, schools, etc. The District of Columbia is part of this effort.
New Leadership Hosting by NCC: Bill presented the proposal developed by Tom, Ross, and Bill for a "National Leadership & Conservation Policy Forum." Bill will distribute copies to all officers and Chip and other officers at the Tampa meeting will talk with Craig Cox at the annual meeting in July.

The SWCS-NCC Board meets the first Thursday of each month from 11:45-12:45.
The location will cycle among the organizations represented by Board members and be announced prior to each meeting.
